The whole environment is very relaxed, but with a touch of sophistication – after all, it’s a luxury cruise with all the amenities of a five-star stay.
I found the crowd to be fairly diverse compared to the standard of many conventional swinger atmospheres. On the ship, it wasn’t just the fitness crowd, with older men and much younger women. At least, that wasn’t the majority. There were couples of all ages, body types, and styles.
During the day, everyone gathered on the pool deck to listen to music, sunbathe, and enjoy dance and exercise activities. The bars are open 24/7, but no one overdoes it – the idea is to enjoy the day and stay strong for the night events, which started with theme parties, live band shows, or guest DJs…and always ended with some fireworks in the big playroom.
The playroom is the only area really dedicated to sex (outside of the private cabins of course), and it has a relaxing atmosphere with soft lighting, ambient music, and aroma diffusers. Inside, some couples interacted, while others took the opportunity to observe. A lot was happening, but everything was optional – you could join in or just enjoy yourself in your own space.
Is it worth it? It’s definitely worth it. Of course, it requires a larger financial investment, but the Desire Cruise delivers a five-star experience from head to toe. It feels like there is just the right amount of people – all the couples feel very comfortable and are eager to meet new people and make friends. Not everything is about sex; many people seek experiences like this because, in their everyday lives, they don’t feel comfortable talking about themselves, and they find people on a trip like this they can connect and share with.
I recommend a Desire Cruise for couples just starting to explore the swinger lifestyle and for couples with some experience in such open-minded surroundings. Meeting interesting people from all over the world, in a safe and private environment, made everything very enjoyable, no doubt. Eleven nights that flew by!
